The much anticipated Winterlicious 2019 is coming to Toronto starting in January. The event will showcase the best meals and culinary events that Toronto has to offer. Attendees will be able to find delicious three-course prix fixe lunch and dinner menus at nearly 200 top restaurants in the city! There will also be 13 culinary events. Here are 5 events that we think are a must-attend at Winterlicious 2019.

Art of Food Preservation

Executive Chef, Josh Dyer, will be creating a five-course menu that centres around the topic: ”Art of Food Preservation.” If you’re wondering what this means, local farmers and food suppliers will be swapping secrets about sustainable eating habits in an Ontario winter. This event will entail techniques and quick demonstrations. Each course will be paired with Canadian wines, local spirit-based cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. Plus, each guest will receive a take-home gift of the fermented variety.

Afternoon Tea at Casa Loma

I must admit, I can’t deny myself an afternoon tea. I’ve been frequenting afternoon teas since my mom would take me when I was a child. The Casa Loma afternoon tea is especially unique because you also get admission to the castle and grounds.

There will be teas, scones, mini croissants, pastries, strawberries and cream, crumpets with flavoured butters and tea sandwiches. You can also expect to see some live music and a 20 foot cake tower!
